1. Contact Talkwave Support
Email: [email protected]
We do not promise a fixed response time. When you write to us, include:
- your Talkwave user code, if you can open the app;
- your device model and operating system version (iOS or Android);
- the Talkwave version shown at the bottom of Me > Settings;
- the approximate time and time zone;
- the topic or room involved, if relevant; and
- clear steps to reproduce the issue.
Do not send your password, email verification code, Apple or Google tokens, push tokens, or another person's private information.
2. Safety and reporting
If the issue involves someone in a room, tap that person's avatar to open their member card and use Mute, Report, or Block. Choose the report reason that fits and add only the details needed for review. Talkwave reviews reports but does not promise a specific response time, and the reported person is not told who reported them. If there is an immediate threat or emergency, leave the room and contact local emergency services; Talkwave support is not an emergency service.
To report a friend's profile photo, open that friend's profile outside a room (for example, tap their photo and name at the top of your chat with them) and tap Report profile photo. Choose Inappropriate profile photo, add a note if it helps the review, and tap Submit. Profile photos are never shown in rooms, so they cannot be reported from a room.
To report a friend outside a room, tap People, then Friends, and tap the friend to open your chat. Tap the menu at the top right, then Report. You can also tap their photo and name at the top of the chat to open their profile and tap Report there. Choose the reason that fits, add a note if it helps the review, and tap Submit. Your friend is not told, and the friendship does not change; to stop contact, also remove or block them. Only people who are currently your friends can be reported outside a room.
To appeal an enforcement decision, email [email protected] with your user code, the approximate time, and a short explanation. For an account or network restriction, see Section 6.
3. Sign-in help
Talkwave supports Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, and email verification codes. Check your network connection and make sure you are using the same sign-in method as before; a different method creates a different account. If an email code does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder, wait for the resend cooldown to end, and request a new code. If it still does not arrive, contact support with the approximate request time. Never send the code itself.
If Talkwave says This email can't be used to create a new account right now, the email's domain is not accepted for new accounts. Use another email address, or sign in with Apple or Google. If Talkwave says your account or network is restricted, see Section 6.
4. Delete your account
- Sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Tap Me, then Delete account.
- Read What happens after deletion and tap Continue deleting.
- Confirm your identity: enter the six-digit code sent to your email address, or complete a fresh Apple or Google sign-in.
- Tap Delete account.
When deletion is confirmed, Talkwave ends the session and returns to the sign-in screen. Your profile and account data stop being visible immediately, and account data is deleted within 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy. The account cannot be recovered.
If Talkwave shows Deletion is still being confirmed, stay on the screen and tap Retry deletion. If you are asked to verify again, tap Verify again and repeat the identity check. Do not treat the account as deleted until Talkwave confirms it.
You can delete your account even while it is restricted: tap Delete account on the restriction screen, then follow steps 3 to 5. If the account is restricted when it is deleted, its restriction record is kept, and its email address and Apple or Google account cannot be used to sign in or create a new account until the restriction ends (see the Privacy Policy, Section 6).
If you cannot open the app or the deletion does not complete, email [email protected], preferably from the email address linked to the account.
5. Change or delete your profile photo and private notes
You can change or delete your profile photo and your private notes at any time without deleting your account. Each change takes effect immediately.
Profile photo. Only your friends can see your profile photo. Everyone else, and everyone in a room, sees your cartoon avatar.
- Upload: tap Me, then Edit profile, then Upload photo. Pick one photo in your device's photo picker, check the square preview, and tap Use this photo. The photo is saved when the upload finishes; you do not need to tap Save.
- Change: in Me > Edit profile, tap Change photo, pick another photo, and tap Use this photo. Your previous photo stops being shown at once.
- Delete: in Me > Edit profile, tap Remove photo, then tap Remove to confirm. Your friends see your cartoon avatar instead. A replaced or deleted photo is removed from storage as described in the Privacy Policy.
Private notes. A note is visible only to you. Your note about a person is the same note in your Met list and your Friends list.
- Someone you have met: tap People, then Met, tap that person, and tap the note line (Add a note, or your current note). Type the note and tap Save.
- A friend: tap People, then Friends, and tap the friend to open your chat. Tap the menu at the top right, then Edit note. Type the note and tap Save.
- Clear a note: open the note in either of the ways above, delete all of its text, and tap Save. Talkwave shows Note removed.
6. Account or network restricted
Talkwave automatically restricts an account or a network that goes over the daily profile photo upload limits: 10 upload attempts per account and 20 per network (IP address) each day, counted from midnight to midnight UTC. Every attempt counts, including attempts that fail. If your account goes over, your account and the network you were using are restricted. If only the network goes over (for example, when many people share the same Wi-Fi or mobile network), only that network is restricted, and your account still works on another network.
- How long: 24 hours the first time, 30 days the second time, and 365 days the third time and every time after that. Talkwave shows when the restriction ends, in your device's time zone.
- When it ends: Talkwave tries again automatically at that time, or you can tap Retry. You do not need to sign in again.
- While restricted: you can tap Sign out, or Delete account to delete the account (Section 4).
- To appeal: if you believe the restriction is a mistake, for example because you share a network with other people, email
[email protected]with your user code (if you know it), the end time Talkwave shows, and roughly when you last uploaded a photo. Talkwave may lift a restriction early. - To avoid it: before you choose a photo, Talkwave tells you when 3 or fewer attempts remain today, and it does not open the photo picker when none remain.
7. Privacy and legal requests
To ask for access to or a copy of your information, to correct information you cannot edit in the app (such as your date of birth), or to raise a privacy, copyright, or legal matter, email [email protected] and state the type of request in the subject line. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity or evaluate the request.
